Early Monday morning, a three-story brownstone home in Brooklyn caught fire. The home is located on Putnam Avenue in Bedford-Stuyvesant.
Fire officials and investigators say the fire that left several injured started at the top floor of the house. One of the home’s occupants had to shimmy down a rope to escape the fire and a second was rescued and carried out of the fire by firefighter Peter Demontreux.
Authorities reported that six people had to be treated for minor injures, three people were transported to a nearby hospital suffering from severe burns and smoke inhalation, and four firefighters were injured in the fire.
