LG recalls portable dehumidifiers for possible fire hazards

Posted on August 12th, 2010 No Comments

LG Electronics Tianjin Appliance Co. has announced the recall of its 30 pint portable dehumidifiers for possible burn or fire hazards.  Complaints that the power connector for the product’s compressor have short circuited and created fire hazards have led the company to recall almost 10,ooo of the dehumidifiers.

The dehumidifiers are sold at Home Depot, Wal-Mart, and Heat Controller, Inc..  The defective product was sold in store from January 2007 to June 2008 for between 140 and 150 dollars.

LG urges owners of the product to stop using it immediately and to read their recall notice.  Owners of the defective humidifier can contact GE for more information on arranging a free repair.

If you or someone you know has been injured from a defective product, contact the Queens product liability lawyers of Parker Waichman LLP at 1-888-244-2273 to learn more about your rights.
